Mount Pamitinan Day Hike

Climbing a mountain is a real challenge especially to those who are beginners like me. Mount Pamitinan a 426 meters above sea level is a beginners course located at Wawa Rodriguez Rizal.

A day before our hike I already contacted Kuya Nok-Nok as our tour guide and also rent a car to go directly to Wawa Rodriguez Rizal since we are all 10 in a group.

Arriving at WAWA DENR Office for the registration for those who will climb the mountain you have to write your name, age and signature  and must sign a waiver indicating that you are capable and physically fit in climbing the mountain. After that you have to pay Php 50 each as environmental fee and if it happens that you have a car you have to pay for the parking fee cost Php 30.  Then, you have to go to barangay hall where you have to list down your names for them to monitor who are climbing and how many person that the tour guide is guiding. A donation box is beside at the registration area and its up to you if you will donate or not. But I think its better if you donate.  We gave Php 20 for the group. By the way, every tour guide can only accompany a maximum of 5 persons. Meaning every tour guide you have to pay Php 500 each if you are in a group of 5 or less. Since we are 10 in a group we have two tour guides kuya Nok-Nok and kuya Jobel.

During our hike, our tour guide discuss to us that there are 4 stops that we will be passing on our way on the three summits. Yes, you read it right three summits.:)

The difficulty lies on the bouldering scattered limestone that you will encounter along the way so wearing gloves is a must. If you don't have one you can buy at the Daiso store usually cost Php 88. If you forget your gloves don't worry because there are vendors that sells gloves and caps outside the DENR office. Gloves for what I saw cost Php 50 and caps for Php120. The time we went there, mud are everywhere and it even rained that makes us even harder to climb up and down the mountain.

As I mentioned earlier there are four stops in climbing the mountain where you can have a rest. Every stops have man made bamboo seats like this one.

At the fourth stop which they called "junction" where you can buy food to eat if you don't have one because there are Mini stores here. In this stop we are curious on how they transport their goods on the way to this spot so we asked one of the owners. She said that they just carry those goods on the way to the top sometimes they hired people who can climb the mountain carrying those goods that they will sell. It's really a tough job.

After that rest if you still want to continue on the way to the summit then there's no turning back. Our tour guide warned us that the trail will be more difficult as we go up. We encountered big rocks and scattered limestones along the way and it really test our strength and endurance especially on the rock climbing.

This is the first summit. Two more to go.

The second summit in a "buwis buhay pose"

You can also have a jump shot on the summit

To be able to reach the third summit you have to do the  rappelling.

Finally, the third summit with our kuya Nok-Nok our tour guide in front.
