Sungayan Grill- The taste of Bolinao

Sungayan Grill is located at Balingasay Bolinao, Pangasinan. After our tour at Tondol white sand beach in Anda Pangasinan we planned to go straight to Bolinao because we want to try the sungayan fish. We didn't know where is it and we didn't know what's the name of the restaurant where we can eat sungayan.

Way to Sungayan grill

Upon reaching Bolinao we followed the way going to the light house and ask some locals on where we can eat sungayan fish. One of the locals there recommend the Sungayan grill and its about 5-6 kilometer from the national road. My friend wants to back out but I said we are already near so we have to go there.

Floating Restaurant
The place is easy to find because of signage along the way. Upon reaching the place I was overwhelmed, it reminds me of Loboc river in Bohol.  Sungayan Grill is a floating restaurant and at the same time a fish sanctuary. You can see small fishes in the area like small sungayan fish. The staff are very accommodative and we ordered grilled small sungyan fish that cost Php250.00.

Boats for cruising the Balingasay River
Our order takes around 30 minutes and while waiting for our order we enjoyed the place by spotting different kinds of fishes and also watched those children fishing. You can also cruise the Balingasay river while waiting for your order.

Grilled Sungayan Fish
When our food was served we are surprised because we didn't expect that they will served us two sungayan fishes. The taste is creamy, meaty and savory in short delicious.

Aside from sungayan fish you must try their bamboo cake or "binungey" a rice cake made by steaming a bamboo segment which is filled with sticky rice and coconut milk.
