How to travel to Boracay on a Budget

Boracay was tagged as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world but it will leave a hole in your pocket. Visiting Boracay is expensive but did you know that you can still visit Boracay even if you are in a tight budget? Here are some tips on how to travel to Boracay on a budget.
Going to Boracay via Caticlan by air is expensive, unless you can get a promo. So tourists prefer the route via Kalibo since the airfare is cheaper. Another option is by sea.Ceres Liner and 2Go Travel offers cruise going to Caticlan and you can get it for as low as 1000 pesos and cheaper if they are on a promo. If you will book with 2go travel better to travel at night at 9pm for you will be in Caticlan the next day at 6am.

For transfers from Kalibo or Caticlan better commute through public transportation. There are buses and vans available at Kalibo going to Caticlan.
Then from Caticlan you have to pay for fees before going to Boracay these includes
Environmental fee cost 75 pesos
Terminal fee cost 100 pesos
Pump Boat Rental for 25 pesos
Then from Cagban jetty port you can ride a tricycle going to your hostel or inn. If you will be staying at station 2 fare will cost you 25 pesos. If you sum it all it will only cost you 225 pesos that will cost you twice if you will get a transfer package from a travel agency.
Going back to Caticlan from Boracay fare for the tricycle will cost you 25 pesos if you are from station 2, then a terminal fee cost 100 pesos and a pumpboat rental cost 25 pesos for a total of 150 pesos.

For the accommodation it is better to stay in a hostel or inn for they offer cheaper price compare to hotels. You can get an accommodation for as low as 400 per night with breakfast. I stayed at Box and ladder Hostel that cost 420 pesos for one night with breakfast.

With regards to food there are lots of fastfood chains in the area just look for D'mall located at Station 2. But if you don't want fastfood restaurants then there's a barbeque stand located at Station 2 that offers 50 pesos per stick and a 20 pesos cup of rice that will cost you for only 70 pesos. They also sells chorizo burger and pita with salsa that cost 50 pesos each.
If you are looking for fruit shake for a cheap price you can spot it at station 2 that cost 50 pesos. There are also shawarma that cost 60 pesos. Just roam around station 2 and you can spot cheap food that will satisfy your hungry stomach.

For the water activities, this is the expensive part. But if you are in a group you can get a package that will cost you 1800-2000 pesos which includes Island hopping with free lunch buffet, helmet diving with free picture and video underwater if you don't have an underwater camera and the exciting part Parasailing. I just want you to take note that there are entrance fees in two of the islands that you will be visiting. First is the Magic Island cost 150 pesos and the Crystal Cove cost 200 pesos. Its up to you if you will enter on these islands or not. If you are really on a tight budget then you can swim at the beach all day and walk at the shore from station 3 to 1 and visit the Grotto at station 1. And the most highlighted part is to witness the beautiful sunset.
